Saving Hearts with Love at Bialik
Valentine's Day was celebrated at Bialik in the best possible way ... by helping others! Bialik's mazkirut (student leaders) set up a stall selling chocolates and flowers, the proceeds of which went to 'Save a Child’s Heart', an organisation in Israel that provides lifesaving surgery to children, no matter their race, gender or religion (www.saveachildsheart.com/).
Students were able to send the chocolates and flowers to their friends to let them know how awesome they are, whilst contributing to this amazing organisation.
The mazkirut also organised an open-air cinema experience, which was a brilliant success - all proceeds also going to 'Save a Child's Heart'. Students turned up in pyjamas and cozied up together under the stars in the Amphitheatre, enjoying treats from Cafe Bialik.
Finally, to mark the day of love, students came to school in casual clothes and donated a gold coin. There was also an entertaining 'Groovin the Joo' for all to enjoy.
