Why is fundraising necessary at Bialik?
Tuition fees at Bialik are directed to tuition - teaching materials and teachers' salaries. They do not extend to cover the physical resources our students need to enjoy a quality education, nor do they extend to cover the educational innovations for which Bialik is known and respected.

Like all Australian independent schools, Bialik is not built by the government. Rather, it is through the generosity of parents, grandparents, community members, alumni and friends who understand and appreciate the value of Jewish education in Meblourne, that ensures we are able to plan for and provide the educational environment we want for our children - one that is nurturing and infuses sound values for living and educational excellence.


Is my gift tax deductible?
All donations to Bialik's Building, Library and Scholarship Funds are tax deductible, and will be receipted promptly.

There are many ways for you to support the work of Bialik College for both our current and our future students. Join us in sustaining and developing our superb educational environment and outstanding educational programs. Some of the ways in which you can help include:

1. Voluntary Gift Program - This giving program is aligned with the payment of tuition fees. Parents are able to make a voluntary gift to the Bialik College Building Fund at the same time as they pay their fees. These donations are used to help fund the maintenance schedule around our school, ensuring that each area is upgraded in turn and that no area is left to look old and in disrepair.
   
2. Annual Appeal/Phonathon - This program seeks the financial support of the Bialik community  in the form of one-off or pledged gifts to specific building projects, the purchase of library resources, and to the growth of Bialik's Scholarship Fund.
   
3. Capital Campaign - When Bialik embarks on capital development, at least half of the costs are derived from fundraising. Bialik has depended on the generosity of its community and, in recent years, philanthropic support has led to outstanding facilities for our students including the Besen Family Art & Technology Centre and the Gringlas Sports Centre.
   
4. Pledges - Donors pledging cash sums to be paid annually over an agreed period of time, generally directed towards a specific building project, an educational program or to the Scholarship Fund, greatly assist Bialik in planning for its future capital development and educational innovation, and for providing scholarships awarded on the basis of merit and/or need. 
   
5. B'nei Mitzvah Project - Thank Bialik for supporting your child through his/her bar/bat mitzvah with a gift to Bialik's Library Fund. Click here for more information.
   
6. Bequests - Bequests are a particularly effective way of providing benefits for future generations of Bialik students and can include cash, a share of an estate, real estate, shares or personal property. Find out more about bequests here.
   
7. Gifts in lieu - Bialik truely appreciates the generosity of those who request gifts to the Bialik College Building , Library or Scholarship Funds in lieu of gifts for their special birthdays, anniversaries and other significant life stages.
   
8. Making an Honourarium or Memorial Gift - Similarly, why not commemorate a milestone in the life of someone close to you, or to remember a loved one, while you help our community with a gift in their name?
   
9. Birthday Club - a donation to Bialik's Library Fund is a special way to mark your birthday or that of a loved one.
   
10. Gifts of Assets - The donation of property, shares, works of art and other realisable assets fall into this giving category. In the case of artworks and historical material, these may be eligible for tax deductibility under the Federal Government’s Cultural Gifts Program.
    
11. Corporate Breakfast - This annual event attracts more than 400 senior corporate and community leaders offering sponsors the opportunity to deliver targetted messages. Find out more here.
    
12. Annual Parents' Luncheon - Organised by the Parents' Association, this successful event offers a range of sponsorship opportunities.
    
13. Annual Golf Day - Also organised by the Parents' Association, this day is designed to mix fun and business. A range of sponsorship opportunities are offered.
    
14. Annual Art Oration - This annual program invites one key sponsor to act as host.
    
15. Annual Magazine - The cost of Bialik's school magazine, distributed to every staff and student, is offset by the generosity of advertisers.  Please click here to find out more.
    
16. Bialik's Big Bazaar - Held every two years, this function offers a range of different sponsorship opportunities.
