The Bialik College Visual Arts Collection is but one example of Bialik College’s efforts to maintain its position at the leading edge of education. The Bialik College Visual Arts Collection was initiated with a number of primary aims in mind:

1. to expose students to a variety of artworks, stimulate debate and encourage exploration, understanding and appreciation of art in its myriad forms
2. to have an exciting collection of contemporary artworks which enhances Bialik’s physical environment and promotes Bialik’s reputation as a centre of excellence in the arts
3. to ultimately convert the ‘loan’ collection into a partly ‘owned’ collection.

In addition to the establishment of the Collection, art initiatives which promote those aims and which complement the Collection are being considered including:

1. the creation of a sculpture garden on the school grounds
2. to hold an annual Oration, to which the students and their families as well as the wider community are invited, which would include a speaker on an art related topic, and ultimately an annual art prize.
