Bialik College is not just a school
Bialik is also a journey of self-discovery where students learn about themselves.

The learning begins in our early and primary years where our students are encouraged to develop a sense of belonging, to learn who they are, and how they learn. This journey continues in the primary years when the students start to spread their wings intellectually and physically. Teams of teachers work with groups of students to know them well and to explore methods of learning best suited to them, and time is spent on resilience skills so that our students can discuss how to manage life’s normal but diverse range of difficulties and emotions. As our secondary students grow towards independence and self-reliance, they need to feel that they are able to make their own choices, so Bialik encourages the development of a wide range of skills that help them to do so. The educational journey in Bialik’s senior years also incorporates the expertise of career counsellors who help our students choose future career and learning pathways and life directions.

Students leave Bialik College with a capacity and, hopefully, a passion to learn. It is this capacity and passion for learning which will define our students’ excellence in the future.


‘Learning’ at Bialik
Bialik College provides an excellent Jewish and general education which far exceeds the standards set by the various educational authorities and consistently ranks amongst the leading schools in VCE performance. Traditionally, education is about acquiring knowledge, about teaching children to read, write and understand arithmetic. But, at Bialik, education means far more than that. Certainly, while Bialik’s curriculum places careful attention on literacy and numeracy skills, it expands much further to include a rich and diverse choice of subjects; a sound understanding of what it means to be a committed and knowledgeable Jew and Australian; a working knowledge of the modern Hebrew language; and the fostering of a desire for life-long learning.
