The Bialik College Parents’ Association has a vital role at the school and welcomes input from parents, grandparents, relatives and friends.
All Bialik parents are members of the Bialik College Parents' Association, the office-bearers of which are elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Association. Through its subcommitties, the Association organises regular cultural, social, educational and fundraising activities. These activities provide opportunities for parents to meet and to become involved with the school.
Funds raised by the Parents’ Association are spent on a wide range of projects. These include the purchase of classroom equipment, library books, primary classroom aids, musical, sporting, audio-visual and play equipment, reading programs, prizes and the provision of everything from Chanukah dreidls to charoset for the College's model Pesach sedarim.
Parents' Association meetings are held each school term to discuss the Association’s program of activities. Notification of dates is given in the College’s weekly Igeret Ktana.
Traditional activities organised by the Parents’ Association include a get-together for new parents at the start of the school year, an annual luncheon with guest speaker, cultural evenings, theatre and film nights, family activities, adult education classes, a golf tournament, a family camp and dinner-dances from time to time.
There are many ways in which parents can become involved in College life, among them serving as class coordinators, assisting with lost property, in the library or with preparations for the celebration of chaggim and other significant occasions.
The Executive of the Bialik College Parents' Association welcomes your suggestions, comments and questions. Please contact one of the Co-Presidents - Kate Beaconsfield or Amanda Miller.
