To celebrate the end of Term 2, Grade 1 students in Dwan's class were asked to come to school dressed up as 'What I Want To Be When I Grow Up".

Raising Awareness for Gilad, Udi and Eldad18 June 2007

18 – 25 June has been marked to raise awareness in the community for Gilad, Udi and Eldad, spotlighting the fact that they are still in terrorist captivity almost a year after being kidnapped. The week will culminate in a rally to be held in Melbourne’s CBD on Monday 25 June. The initiative and organisation for the rally has come from the community’s youth.

Year 10 work experience week18 June 2007

All Year 10 Bialik students participate in a work experience program which, this year, takes place between 25-29 June 2007. The program offers the students with the opportunity to take an ‘inside’ look at a career of interest and allows them to work within an operating business in the field of their choice.

Bialik teams reach State Finals of the THANT Trophy14 June 2007

Recently, eight Years 11 and 12 Bialik College students participated in the Thant Trophy Model United Nations Security Council Competition. The Victorian round of the National Schools Model UN Competition, the Thant Trophy, is a debating competition in which candidates speak, negotiate and lobby as representatives of one of the 15 countries that currently hold a seat in the UN Security Council.

Make Poverty History - ZEROSEVEN Road Trip7 June 2007

Mazal tov to Tali , Year 10 student, who has been selected, together with a group of other young people, from 700 Victorian applicants to serve as a youth ambassador (16 – 26 years old) for the 'Make Poverty History ZEROSEVEN Road Trip'. The application process was a rigorous one.

John Maclean Foundation6 June 2007

In October this year, 30 cyclists, including a past parent of Bialik College, Bob van Aken, will be riding from Sydney to Melbourne via the Princess Highway to raise funds for the John McLean Foundation. This seven day ride is focused on raising funds for disabled kids in need of specialised equipment to enhance their wellbeing.

Little Big Shots - Melbourne International Children's Film Festival6 June 2007

Films for kids, by kids, about kids, to amaze and delight kids. Australia's major annual and travelling children's film festival returns to ACMI in 2007. One of the films featured for age group 5-8 year olds was produced by our very own budding producers Ofek,Olive,Sasha,Yasmin and Bailey, Grade 1 students in 2006.

Residents from Caulfield Manor join in a fun art activity4 June 2007

Our friends from Caulfield Manor once again visited our lunchtime club, as organised by Bruce Bellman and Kevin Milstein. The activity this week was art, and all the participants produced lovely sketches using pastels, with our professional artist, Bruce, leading the way.
