With over 400 Primary schools participating across Victoria, 'Hooptime' is the single largest basketball competition for primary aged students. Bialik entered five teams in this year's McDonalds Hooptime Basketball Championships and had a lot of fun.

Visit by Prominent Genocide Scholar11 September 2006
Bialik was privileged to be visited by Professor Samuel Totten, a Professor of Education from the University of Arkansas, USA, last Thursday. A world-renowned expert in Genocide and Holocaust education, Professor Totten visited Rwanda twice this year and, in 2004, was a member of the US State Department’s Darfur Atrocities Investigation Team, assessing the genocidal conditions in Darfur, Sudan. Professor Totten visited Bialik at the invitation of Dr Paul Bartrop, Bialik’s Head of History. Dr Bartrop and Prof Totten have, for the past 5 years, been co-authoring a Dictionary of Genocide which will be published next year. During his day at Bialik, Professor Totten spoke to students in Year 11 History, Year 12 International Studies, and Year 10 Comparative Genocide Studies classes.

Bialik’s old website only had 3 pages – this one already has over 60! The site is to be viewed as a work-in-progress with new content, new visual galleries, and new features to be added regularly. If you have already browsed through the site, you will have noticed that you are greeted by a random selection from a whole gallery of images – that is, the site looks fresh and different each time you visit.
