Last week the Year 2 students visited Healesville Sanctuary, where they discovered the natural world through an array of Australian wildlife, became Aussie Animal Adventurers and connected with animals in their natural settings.
They learned about different kinds of animals and their body coverings, features, habitats and life cycles and had the opportunity to see Australian wildlife up close, including some of our local endangered species. They also experienced the Spirits of the Sky show, during which they discovered Australia’s majestic birds of prey and magnificent parrots. The students found out how birds have adapted to an ever-changing world and discovered how changing one little thing that we do can make a real difference to their survival.
