Bialik’s History on Display

On Tuesday 30 October, the Year 6A English and Humanities class was lucky enough to visit Bialik’s Laura Kipen Memorial Archive. With protective gloves on, students looked at a variety of different collection items housed in the archive, including photo albums, newspaper articles, publications, uniforms, school bags and old media, like vinyl records, slides and audio reels.

The class discussed the difference between primary and secondary sources, the importance of preserving significant items in an archive so they aren’t lost and forgotten, and what these items can tell us about the past.
