We know that some of the best learning takes place out of the classroom and with this in mind, the Year 9 cohort have embarked on a new program that has replaced the more traditional City Week offered in other schools. This new program, ‘Entrepreneurship Week’ is unique to Bialik and aims to promote unbridled, independent and innovative thinking. It is an exciting experience that is designed to enhance the students’ life skills and independence.
Based in the innovation hub of Richmond and Cremorne, the students have been using public transport to navigate their way to businesses, organisations and co-working hubs. They have engaged with CEO guest speakers, interviewed successful entrepreneurs, pitched their own ideas to respected figures in the business world and have been mentored by Bialik alumni who themselves have had success as entrepreneurs. They have visited CreativeCubes.Co, worked with Luna Startup Studio and have heard from start-ups including UberEats, How Two Live, Catch of The Day and many more.
