PE/Sport Teacher

Bialik College is seeking an energetic and dynamic PE teacher for a full-time, ongoing role commencing in January 2022.

This role will report to the Head of Physical Education and Director of Sport and will work closely with staff in the PE department.  This role will teach students ranging from years 2 – 10.

The role requires a team-focused person who possesses the following:

  • Enthusiasm and experience in teaching physical education
  • Interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Commitment to Before School Athletics programs
  • Current VIT registration along with relevant tertiary qualifications in PE

Support Teacher

The College is currently seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) Support Teacher for a fixed-term parental leave replacement role commencing Term 4 2021. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support to students who have learning difficulties, specifically in reading and writing. The ideal candidate would be passionate about working with students of all abilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with teachers to modify the student’s learning program.
  • Provide support for the student to complete class requirements and school assessed course work.
  • Liaise with the student’s teachers in all subject areas.
  • Provide on-going advice and support for the student in the areas of organisation and homework management.

Role Requirements

  • Experience with the secondary school curriculum – English is essential.
  • Solid experience in teaching across a range of year levels/capability levels.
  • Have an understanding of different teaching methodologies.
  • Sound ability to assist students with additional needs.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Current VIT registration is essential.

Mathematics Teacher & Support Role

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and cater for individual learner needs, collaborating with other teachers and specialists staff in the College.

School Psychologist/Counsellor/Social Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a new pastoral leadership and psychology services team.  You will take leading steps with us as we transform our provision of student counselling and psychology.

As a School Psychologist at Bialik, you will provide modern and progressive support to our students, families and staff at Bialik College.  You will have responsibility to deliver counselling, group work and consultation services to the Bialik community.  You will work closely with pastoral care and teaching staff to promote and deliver a holistic model of professional development, care and support.

Working in a counselling team, you will manage a case load of students requiring assessment, advocacy, counselling, referral and practical assistance as required. You will also liaise with parents, relevant school staff, and external professionals where appropriate.

Offering a flexible commencement date in either 2021 or 2022, Part–time or Full-time position as a Psychologist or Counsellor or Social Worker (Leadership position also available).

About the role

Bialik Crèche provides long day care for children aged from three months to three years old.  We are seeking skilled and experienced Educators to provide high quality care for our enrolled children and their families. Also seeking fluent speaking Hebrew Educators, who will lead musical, religious and cultural Jewish learning experiences in the Creche.

This position is responsible for providing care and education for our children, involving planning and implementing curriculum and experiences, whilst championing the Reggio Emilia approach of being through learning and care. 

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm.

You will have a proven track record for providing a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for children in line with organisational values and strategy.   

You will ideally hold the following qualifications:

  • Completed a minimum of an approved two year ACECQA qualification in Early Childhood
  • Minimum two years’ experience working as an Educator or Room Leader
  • Valid Working with Children’s check
  • Be willing to obtain a Police check
  • Recognised first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis management training
  • Thorough understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS) and the National Regulations to make sure their practices are in accordance with these.

Bialik’s Babysitting Introductory Service

What is the Bialik Babysitting Introductory Service (BIS)?

BIS facilitates Bialik parents to book Bialik students or Alumni babysitters

Benefits of BIS

  • Offers parents access to affordable babysitting
  • Allows parents to support the College’s eco-system
  • Gives students a paying job to gain responsibilities and experience

How does it work?

Step 1: Parents email [email protected] BIS and ask for an available babysitter

Step 2: The BIS administrator then sends a message to all the BIS students (usually via WhatsApp) with the babysitting criteria

Step 3: The first suitable person to reply is given the job

Babysitter requirements

  1. Babysitter must be in Year 9-12 or a Bialik Alumni
  2. Babysitter must read and agree to Terms and Conditions.

Babysitter responsibilities

Failure to meet any of these responsibilities will result in removal from the service. 

  1. Make sure that children in your care are safe
  2. Keep track of your appointments
  3. Get to your job on time
  4. Dress appropriately
  5. Be professional and polite

Payment

  • One-off $10 annual BIS fee per school year – payable by the parent via Trybooking
  • Parents pay the babysitter directly at the end of their session (bank transfer or cash)

Pricing

  • Non drivers – $15 an hour
  • Drivers – $20 an hour
  • For driver with daytime work – $22 an hour

Disclosure

The School does not play any role in any babysitting arrangement that may arise from this service. All such arrangements are private between the student and the parents requiring a babysitting service. The School will not accept any responsibility or liability whatsoever for any babysitting arrangements made or sought to be made.
