Bequests

Your legacy will live on and help generations of new Bialik College students when you choose to bequeath a donation or gift to the College in your will or trust distributions. It is a very personal way to identify what is important to you, and allows you to give in a way that will continue to enhance future students’ lives.

By giving, you unlock the potential of capable students, enabling them to make a real difference in the world.

Specific bequests

If you’d like to direct your gift to a specific purpose at Bialik College College – for example donating to the Fee Assistance Fund, or to a particular program or facility, or setting up a scholarship for a particular purpose – please contact Heidi Meyerson, Development Manager on foundation@bialik.vic.edu.au. Heidi will help ensure that our vision for Bialik College is captured in your will, and can provide sample wording or clauses to assist you in the process.

When accepting a bequest which has a specific purpose, Bialik College is legally and ethically obliged to observe that purpose to the best of our ability. Over time there may be program/demand changes that make it impossible or impractical to meet the specific purpose stated in your will. We therefore recommend including the following provision in your will:

If at any time Bialik College determines that it is impossible or impractical to fulfil the purpose of my bequest, the College may apply the bequest for a related purpose that will most nearly accomplish the purpose or is consonant with the spirit and intent of my bequest.

Tax Implications

For donations though a Will, advice should be sought from a suitably qualified tax advisor about tax implications.
