On 13 September, fifteen students from Years 3-6 represented Bialik at the Chess Ideas Interschool Tournament. The tournament was held at Bialik College with 97 students from 8 schools participating. Our Head of Primary School, Karen Friede, opened the tournament, welcoming the participants from other schools and sharing how the skills and strategies within the game of Chess are lifelong skills and strategies which we can use in our everyday lives.
The tournament had seven rounds and everyone enjoyed the friendly and competition. Mazel tov to all participants for playing their best. The second top score for the tournament of 6 points was earned by Aaron P.
As a team, Bialik came second in the tournament, giving them access to the semi finals. The top four scorers from Bialik were Aaron P, Ilay G, Zohar G and Shakked F.
