THE ROSENKRANZ CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE AND ACHIEVEMENT

On Sunday 18 November, our Primary and Middle school FIRST LEGO League teams converged on Swinburne University for a day of Robotic Challenges.

FLL Middle School Team:

Our FLL Middle School team, The Bialik Wolves, competed in The State Finals for the National FLL competition. During the day, the students presented their “Into Orbit” project, were interviewed by judges regarding their robot design, assessed on their core team values and competed in three different Robot Game “mission rounds” against students from other schools.  The Bialik students performed well under pressure and proudly represented our school.  They have already expressed enthusiasm towards their ongoing learning within robotics and excitement in joining the competition again in 2019.

Middle School FLL team are: Noah D, Dustin F, Yoav G, Nathan H, Joshua K, Yehonatan M, Aaron P, Ricky S and Iliya S.

FLL Junior (Primary School) Team:

Bialik’s Junior FIRST LEGO League team, The “Moon Specialists”, attended the Expo on Sunday at Swinburne University. Run in parallel with the State Finals for FIRST LEGO League, 11 teams from a variety of schools shared their Moon Bases, their “Show Me” posters and programmed LEGO WeDo robots. Our students mingled with students from other schools, asked them about what they had made and how they made it. At this level, inspectors, rather than judges, came and asked students questions about their Moon Bases and robots.

We look forward to continuing with the robotics team next year!

Junior FLL team are: Abigail A, Lior B, Benji B (coach – absent due to a scout camp), Ella C, Yhonatan C, Itamar G, Jack R (coach) and Olivia W.
