Recently, the Year 5s visited the State Library of Victoria to learn about the history of Melbourne and the way The Gold Rush affected its growth. The students enjoyed the tour but were not expecting what happened afterwards! While they were enjoying lunch on the State Library lawn, they noticed a protest march passing by. Protesters were marching for wage increases for all Australians. A musical cohort that were part of the protest, came over and started playing for the students. Everyone got up to dance and the atmosphere was full of laughter and fun. It was a special encounter for the students and was a great way to end what was an interesting day for all.
