The Annual Bialik Golf Day was held on Friday November 17, and this year the major sponsor CVS Lane, along with 18 individual hole-sponsors, helped to raise money for the College, with a magnificent day out at the Cranbourne Golf Club. A great looking field of students, teachers, parents, corporates, sponsors, Mormons and a semi-professional golfer teed off in sublime conditions, after having the course well-watered the previous day!
A buffet of Fruit Box fruit and Kez’s Kitchen snacks awaited golfers as they registered bright and early for the event, and in true Jewish Meantime, the event started 10 minutes later than planned. The cry of “fore” and the screams of delights when someone sunk a long putt could be heard throughout the morning, as the Ambrose Competition heated up. The GolfDayPro app was used by everyone to keep their scores and watch the leaderboard throughout the day, but unfortunately nobody won the $1000 hole-in-one prize that they offered on the longest par 3 ever invented. Players were refreshed by the Gary Peer Coffee van, Wingate’s snack marquee, and Hana and Mish skilfully driving the snacks/drinks cart. To finish the event, players gathered for a BBQ lunch and a beer to celebrate the following winners:
Winners: Gary Peer Group – Darren Blair, Daniel Fisher, Antony Jolson, Darren Krongold. They won an Antler suitcase each and we thank Darren who generously donated it back to the school to use in a future event or raffle.
Runners Up: Escala Partners – Mason Allamby, Stephen Collins, Brett Paton, Pep Perry. They won House of Golf lessons and X-Golf simulator sessions.
NAGT Last Place (Not a Golfers Tuchus): HR Legal – Michael Cain, Asher Judah, Rick Phillips, David Sztrajt. They won a cheap cask of wine each.
• Nearest The Pin (Hole 3) –Darren Blair who won a night’s accommodation at The Royce Hotel plus 2 tickets to Book of Mormon with the stars of Book of Mormon on hand to present the prize
• Nearest The Pin (Hole 8) – Anthony Mahemoff who won a night’s accommodation at The Royce Hotel plus 2 tickets to The Melbourne Theatre Company

• Longest Drive (15+ handicap) – Josh Liberman who won a Samsonite Suitcase
Thanks again to all sponsors, players, prize donors, food suppliers, organisers and Cranbourne Golf Club for an amazing day. Look out for the new trophy and honour board which will be unveiled soon in the Gringlas Sports Centre to honour the winners.
See you next year for the 2018 Extravaganza.

Last week’s Walkathon was a huge success! Thanks to all our parent volunteers and, of course, our students who walked, ran and even danced around the oval to raise funds for their school. A very big thank you also goes to our Sponsors MOOSE Toys and Yochi for their generosity in supporting this great event.
