Last term, the entire school gathered in the Amphitheatre for a remarkable experience. We welcomed Wurundjeri elder, Murrundindi to Bialik, who led the school in a traditional Indigenous Australian Smoking Ceremony. This wonderful event marked the Jewish New Year and the friendship between the Jewish people and Indigenous Australians. Zach Gomo, Head of Jewish Studies ended the ceremony with poignant words, “May the Dreamtime and the Torah always serve as the guides for our peoples and may the sounds of the Didgeridoo and the Shofar always carry the calls of our souls.”
