News From The Rosenkranz Centre for Excellence and Achievement
As part of our Year 3’s current Maths investigation on Geometry, the whole year level visited The Escher x Nendo exhibition at The National Gallery of Victoria on Monday 1 April. The students had the most exciting and full day travelling to and from the city via train, exploring the exhibition and making links to their classroom investigations, participating in a workshop led by educators from The NGV and taking time out in The Great Hall to lie beneath the amazing stained glass kaleidoscope of polygons, making further links to their learning.
Our students engaged in every aspect of the excursion; building new connections, asking questions, developing hypotheses, slowly and thoughtfully examining the pieces of art. Their teachers were so proud of their excitement, interest and perseverance.
For some it was their first time on a train. For some it was their first time in The NGV. And for some it was their first time in a gallery. What an awesome day!
