Celebrating Our Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Recipients

Student News Monday, 03 Aug 2026

What does it take to earn a Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award? For 64 of our Year 10 and Year 11 students, it represents months of commitment, personal growth and service to the community.

Students, families and staff recently came together to celebrate this significant milestone at the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Ceremony. The afternoon began with refreshments prepared and served by our talented Year 9 Barista students before guests gathered for the formal presentation.

The ceremony featured a presentation from a representative of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, along with thoughtful reflections from students who shared their experiences of completing the program. Each recipient was then presented with their Bronze Award and badge in recognition of their achievement.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award encourages young people to challenge themselves beyond the classroom by developing new skills, participating in physical activity and contributing through voluntary service. Throughout the journey, students build confidence, resilience, independence and a strong sense of responsibility.

At Bialik College, students begin working towards the award through the Year 8 and Year 9 electives program. The Bronze Award Ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the commitment and perseverance each student has demonstrated throughout the program.

Congratulations to all 64 Bronze Award recipients on this outstanding achievement. We are proud of everything they have accomplished and look forward to seeing where their Duke of Edinburgh journey takes them next.
