Scholarships & Bursaries

Bialik College offers several scholarships, bursaries and awards to students. We also offer fee assistance to eligible families to ensure that all Jewish children can access a top-class Jewish education regardless of their parents’ financial situation. Bialik consistently ranks in the Top 5 in the State for VCE results and is renowned not only for its academic excellence, but also for its Culture of Thinking, highly attuned pastoral care program, inclusive Jewish ethos and caring environment.

Please note: Individuals can hold only one scholarship / bursary / award at any time.

Bursaries

Applications for bursaries have now closed. 

Our multi-year means-tested Bursaries are only available to Jewish students currently attending a government school and who would otherwise not be able to afford a Jewish education. Bursaries for students entering Year 6 & Year 7 in 2025 include:

  • Ruben Fried Scholarship (Year 7 in 2025)

This means-tested scholarship covers tuition fees from Year 7 to Year 12 inclusive. Co-funded by the Spotlight Foundation and Bialik College. Family contribution of $5000 per year (some optional activities and electives may incur additional charges).  

  • The Richard & Margot Melzak Bursary (Year 6 & Year 7 in 2025)

Valid up to and inclusive of Year 12. Value $10,000 per annum.

  • The Makby Bursary (Year 6 & Year 7 in 2025)

Valid up to and inclusive of Year 12. Value $10,000 per annum.

  • General Excellence

Offered at Principal's discretion from pool of applicants for all awards / bursaries (no specific application form for this award).
