Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

Thursday, 02 Feb 2023

At our final Middle School Assembly of 2022, we celebrated the many achievements of the students of the Middle School.

For the first time ever, we recognised the commitment and dedication these students demonstrated when completing the requirements of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia. Achieving an Award demonstrates confidence, resilience, leadership, creativity, problem solving, teamwork, and social, mental, and physical wellbeing. It recognises individual goal setting and self-improvement through persistence and achievement.

Every Year 8 and 9 student participated in electives that cover the skills, physical recreation and voluntary service sections of the Award. Our barista teams ran a successful Café each term. They have divided the profits from the year to three different charities related to heart disease along with the amazing Chevra Hatzolah in honour of Bialik prep teacher, Karen Sulman. There will be a formal ceremony held this term and the official Bronze Award and Badge will be presented by the CEO of Duke of Ed.

Congratulations to Zara A, Matilda D, Yarden K, Ethan L, Elijah N, Oliver R, Jonah S, Eden V, Justin K, Benji B, Segev G, Asha G, Sabrina G, Ava W, Lisa V, Woody W, Joseph Z and Dion Z.
