What is it really like to respond to emergencies on the front line?

Year 8 students recently had the opportunity to find out when guest speaker Aryeh Myers visited the School to share insights from more than 20 years as a senior paramedic with Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency medical service.

Drawing on experiences from his extensive career, Aryeh provided students with a fascinating glimpse into the realities of emergency medicine. Through personal stories and real-life examples, he highlighted the importance of rapid decision-making, teamwork and delivering care in high-pressure situations.

Students engaged enthusiastically, asking thoughtful questions about the challenges of working in emergency services, the support available to first responders and the vital role Magen David Adom plays in communities across Israel.

Hearing directly from someone with firsthand experience brought these important lessons to life and offered students a deeper understanding of service, resilience and responsibility.

Opportunities like this help connect classroom learning with the wider world, inspiring students through the experiences of those who dedicate their lives to helping others.
