Canteen Administrator

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Canteen Administrator to manage the efficient operation of our canteen. This role involves overseeing stock management, rostering, financial transactions, and food preparation, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and providing high-quality service to our community.

This is an ongoing position, commencing in Term 1, 2026. The position will work Monday - Friday full-time hours, during school term time only.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage stock control, including ordering, delivery coordination, stock rotation, and waste reduction.
  • Oversee daily food preparation and service, maintaining compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Manage cash handling, EFTPOS transactions, and daily reconciliation.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor staff and volunteer rosters.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports relating to stock, sales, and staffing.
  • Support the continuous improvement of canteen operations.

Role Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in stock management, food preparation, or hospitality administration.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Proven ability in staff rostering and coordination.
  • Sound financial management skills, including cash handling and basic reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and the wider community.
  • Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements. Relevant qualifications in hospitality including Food Handling and Safety Supervisor (desirable).
  • Valid Working with Children Check.
