Communications Assistant
The Position
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Communications Assistant to support our busy Marketing & Communications team.
This is a part-time role (3 days per week) commencing the beginning of Term 1, 2026, during school term time only.
You will be responsible for daily communication with parents, ensuring clear, professional, and timely updates. The role also involves regular graphic design work, offering the opportunity to collaborate with two experienced designers—ideal for someone looking to grow their skills in this area. Strong writing and proofreading abilities are essential, as you'll be expected to produce and review content with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Administration
- Manage day-to-day communications functions: emails and permissions slips.
- Office administration: prepare data reports for various departments as needed, manage database and event registrations (utilising Trybooking or similar).
- Liaise with suppliers, printers, and other external providers as required.
Graphic Design Support
- Assist with the design and production of marketing materials (digital and print), including flyers, social media graphics, signage, newsletters, and event collateral.
- Maintain brand consistency across all visual communications.
Role Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary or Tafe qualification (completed or in progress) in Communications, Graphic Design, or related field.
- Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative attitude and willingness to support a busy team.
- Prior experience in a school or not-for-profit environment (desirable but not essential).
