Teacher - Secondary Art

The Position

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary Art Teacher to deliver high quality education, and oversee curriculum, planning and assessment of students (Years 8-12).

This is a full-time role commencing the beginning of Term 1, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities


- Base teaching on best theoretical and practical knowledge and knowledge of each student's development, skills and interest.
- Cater for individual learning needs within the classroom.
- Collaborate with other teachers and specialist staff in the Department to develop and evaluate curriculum.
- Work closely with parents regarding the progress and development of their children.
- Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy.
- Monitor, evaluate and report of student progress.
- Design lesson plans and assessments that reflect a deep understanding of the content.
- Stay informed regarding current trends, teaching practices and curriculum and resource developments by remaining in contact with relevant associations and other professional networks.

Role Requirements


- Relevant tertiary qualifications and teaching experience and VIT registration is essential.
- Experience teaching Ceramics and Art Creative Practice at VCE Level.
- Open to new ideas and a willingness to implement and change.
- Ability to teach Visual Communication Design (highly desired but not essential).
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and the broader school community.
