Shavuot at Bialik

There's been much excitement around the school for Shavuot. There's been the traditional enjoyment of cheesecake and learning together.  On Thursday we saw a beautiful sea of students dressed in white and many leafy and flowery garlands coming to school.

Preps and Year 1s had the privilege of having some locally and ethically produced cheese tastings under the olive tree with two beautiful goats who came to visit our students. Thank you family Ajzner for sharing two of your loves with us!

We also had so many Grandparents come in to enjoy a special Shavuot morning tea with songs and festivities in the Mifgash with our Primary students leading the show.

Years 9-12 had an awesome show at our Informal Tikkun Leil at the Symmons house, where more than 50 students attended, enjoyed a cooked dinner and speakers from our school as well as locals joined us in sharing different perspectives on the role of Judaism in their lives.

The Kotzke Rebbe was famous for asking the question 'why do we call this festival the giving of the Torah?' Because it was given at one moment in time and the receiving happens at all times'

Wishing everyone a chag sameach!
