Assistant Centre Manager

Bialik Children's Centre (BCC) opened in July 2019, following the completion of the newly built facility. BCC, which forms part of Bialik’s award-winning ELC, provides a flexible and nurturing environment for babies and toddlers aged 3-months to 3-years.

About the role


The successful candidate will provide administrative support and assistance to the BCC Manager for the leadership of staffing, compliance, and administration. The Assistant Manager will work three (3) days as Assistant Manager & two (2) days Administration Assistant.

The Position


Assist in the leadership and management of the day-to-day operations in the BCC including rostering staff shifts.
Facilitate and assist with staffing matters, including Induction of new BCC Staff & performance processes for BCC staff.
Support the manager in Identifying professional development needs within the BCC.
Bring ideas, issues and progress reports to manager meetings. Using these meetings as an opportunity to workshop solutions, identify areas for support and provide/receive feedback.
Leadership of BCC colleagues to develop a culture that is focused on developing solutions and improvements in line with the College’s ethos and philosophy of the BCC.
Encourage and assist in the development of the character of the BCC consistent with Bialik’s vision, goals and core values and the Reggio Emilia philosophy, i.e., respect, collaboration and the sharing of ideas.

Specific skills and experience include:

Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in working with Infants and children, staff, parents and external groups and agencies.
Strong organisational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks.
Experience in a similar role of responsibility.
Highly qualified and experienced in ELC education and knowledge of the Reggio Philosophy.
Valid Victorian Working with Children's check & be wiling to obtain a Police check.
