About the Role


Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Advisor is responsible for providing accurate and timely support and advice across a range of HR functions. The role has a focus on coordinating operational HR matters including, recruitment, reporting, policy, OH&S, personnel and providing general support to managers and staff.

This is a full-time position for a fixed term period until July 2025. This role has the flexibility to work 1 -2 days per week from home.

Key Responsibilities


Coordinate entire HR database (maintenance of database including current & new staff, uploading of documents, entry of personal details & role changes).
Manage end-to-end recruitment (including advertising, screening, reference checks, employment contracts, onboarding & induction)
Oversee VIT, Working with Children Check & visa termly compliance & reporting.
Manage staff leave requests & absences (including queries, register, approval process).
Prepare HR related documentation, including appointment forms, staff letters & calculations of salary & time fractions.
Provide policy, Enterprise Agreement and Award interpretation for staff and line managers.
Assist with staffing & workforce planning consultation with the HR Manager.
Respond to enquiries and provide generalist HR advice to staff & managers.
Assist with policy management as required.
Ensure privacy & confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Chair OH&S Committee meetings & provide support on OH&S matters as required.
Act as the College Return to Work Coordinator, including injury management & worker’s compensation.


Key Requirements


Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Relevant HR tertiary qualification.
Self-motivated & proactive.
Excellent communication, problem solving & presentation skills.
IT skills, including Microsoft Excel & experience using Synergetic (desirable).
Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee) & police check.
